FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW DO I SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT?
Call (614) 216-9730 or email ahi@aacsohio.org
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY VISIT?
During your visit, you will first be checked-in by an undergraduate student and may need to fill out some paperwork. You will then be seen by a medical student who will take your height and weight, blood pressure and heart rate, and discuss why you are visiting. A physician will then come in to examine you and further discuss a healthcare plan for you. If any laboratory tests are needed, you will be escorted to the lab where medical students will take blood draws, urine samples, etc.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO MY VISIT?
If possible, please bring a photo ID, any medication bottles you have, any recent medical records you may have, the address of your pharmacy of choice, and any family members or friends who may be able to help you communicate with our staff.
CAN I COME IF I DON'T SPEAK ENGLISH?
Yes! We try to have interpreters on site, and we have electronic translation services such as MARTTI.
WHAT DO I DO IF I'M NERVOUS ABOUT NEEDLES?
We have students on-site who can draw blood if you are comfortable with that. If you are uncomfortable, we can refer you to OSU's Martha Morehouse at 2050 Kenny Rd., Columbus, OH 43221. They are open from 6:30AM-5PM and you do not need an appointment.

To get your labs done, walk in and check-in at the desk. Inform the staff that you are there from the Asian Free Clinic and give them the order form that you were discharged with. If it is your first time getting care from OSU, you will be asked to fill out some basic paperwork. After this, there will a short wait, and then you will be called back to get your blood drawn or other labs as requested by your doctor.
HOW MANY PATIENTS DO YOU SERVE AT ASIAN FREE CLINIC?
We see about 5-10 patients a week.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I EXPECT TO PAY?
We serve people who do not have health insurance, and are living below 250% Federal Poverty Level. We do not charge for your visit - it is FREE to come in.
